Looks like Dell is gonna release a new 24 incher! Retail price is $1000 So actual price will be around $800. I guess I gotta ditch my 20" NEC for one of these though the 20 incher has kept my happy for about 2 years already. (I paid $1200 for it which was an awesome deal for it 2 years back.)

In a couple years I can get a 24" DTR Notebook.

There is a recurring rumor that Dell is coming out with a 19" notebook about the same time the 9300 is supposed to be intro'd. Should be interesting.

LOL 24" Notebook, I love clever unexpected answers. Dell would probably make the resolution on that screen something crazy like 200,000 x 168,000 pixels or something. As they did with the 15.4 WUXGA. You'll need a microscope to read the screen, that is unless you already have a man servant with amazing eyes to read to you. (Even better, a deliciously hot woman servant to read to you... in a sexy voice. Mmm, reminds me of my Kindergarten teacher...reading to me in a sexy voice. )

My imaginary friend thinks that you have issues.

I wouldn't be surprised if 2405fpw has same problem as 2005fpw. 1,000, that's pretty cheap for a 24 inches. like everyone will say, you get what you pay for. Want a perfect screen? pay more for a sony's or so.

What problems does the 2005fpw have?

While Sony TrueBrite is captivating at first, they are not close to perfect. Take their 17" laptop: the back light is not even resulting in hotspots in several places on the screen. I haven't seen their recent 20+" screen, but the 23" screen they made a few years ago was inferior to Apple's. Blotchy was the word I had in mind at the time.

Also, I wonder how a 24" TrueBrite screen looks. Would reflections be a major problem with such a large screen?

Not to mention price...
