My Recycle bin has stop storing the files i delete. I know most ppl may want to permanently delete stuff anyway, but i'm just wondering how i can stop this. I did empty it prob. once aday, but just incase i deleted something by mistake, i would like to know that its in the bin, and not gone.

Anyone have any ideas???

Thanks

right click your recycle bin and click on properties.. there should be tabs for your hard drives and such with a little check box for whether or not you want to send stuff to the recycle bin or instantly delete it.. it could be this causing your problems..

even if you want to delete stuff without using the recycle bin all you have to do is hold shift when you delete it.

I tried that, i check it, then deleted something, went back and unchecked it, but it still permanently deletes.

make sure your hard drive isn't full. if there isn't enough free space on there to support it it will simply delete rather than put in the recycle bin.

Thiss a clean installation, well about a month old, i'm running 120 gig, w/ 80 gig free.

I'm also having problems with the login screen. I have two accounts and when i log out of either one and leave it sitting, the screen saver comes on, but when i go to log back in either account, it just hangs up on the "loading personal settings" or sometimes when i log out of a account it just goes to a black screen. Either way I have to reboot.

I think you've already 'almost' answered your own question. If it's a clean install, I'd do another install. Sounds like something got hosed during setup.
