HP pavilion ZV5000 AC Adapter problem - Page 3

Might try reseasting the RAM also the CPU if its the Intel based chipset.. They like to pull out of the socket with the heatsink and to reinstall it you need to twist and pry it from the heatsink being careful not to damage or bend any pins.. Unlock the CPU socket with a small flatblade screwdriver, Install the CPU and lock in w/the same screw and you should be ok.

Ken: Yes my CPU (Intel) did stay on the heat sink when removed. I just reinstalled it into it's socket and locked it down without removing it from the heat sink. I didn't see the point from removing it, but I don't really know what I'm doing...lol.

What is the reason to remove the Processor from the Heat Sink?

Thank you for being so very very helpful to all of us. Your advise is so helpful!

Where can you purchase the ceramic paste to reattach the CPU to the Heat Sink? Any advise on using the Ceramic Paste?

How do you reseat RAM? I just took the stick out and put it back. Is that all?

(Edited to correct spelling and ask last question)
