My 7700 has been in phase 9 since last Wednesday (8 days ago), which was my originally estimated ship date. I called Alienware on Monday to check on status and was told my system was delayed due to a shortage of hard drives and video cards, which I was surprised to hear because my understanding was that such a shortage would have stalled my progress back in phase 6. The bottom line is I don't believe they provide reliable information, so it's best not to focus too much on it. It'll come when it comes. BTW, I ordered the NVIDIA video card, and dual 60GB 7200 RPM drives.

Well ive been in phase 9 now for what will be the 5th day today...the customer service peeps over in Ireland have told me it should ship next week (they have been very helpful btw).

I was given the same impression. i.e. The phase may well just go from 9-13/14 in one go.

Im gonna write a proper review of my UK Alienware experience when i get it and have used it...I hope thats gonna be soon...I hate waiting

Well they told me it's in phase 10 and will ship early next week as long as there are no problems. But they have already told me this 2 weeks prior. So we'll see...

Merin- And as for battery life, I keep it plugged in. I'm either working at home or in a motorhome- like right now I'm in my motorhome in San Diego with internet too and I have my dog on my lap.

Just to follow up on my previous post, my system jumped from phase 9 to 13 today, so its total time in phase 9 was 9 days.

Well my phase 9 seems to be going on and on Its been in phase 9 now for exactly one week. I ring CS today and they tell me that my machine has already been built (last week) and that there is a hold up in "integration". Now, I really dont know what integration is exactly, as its certainly not a "phase" as such, and to be honest I wasn't convinced she knew either.

They then tell me that it "may" make integration towards the end of this week?

So basically after 3 weeks after receiving my payment, with no delays on any parts (they told me that several times), Its not here, and whats even worse is that they/I have no idea when it will be

Some peeps on this board will probably tell me to stop whinning and that they have been waiting ages for there systems also. But heres a quote from the UK Alienware terms and conditions:

"System orders will be shipped within ten to fifteen (10 – 15) working days from the date payment is received by our billing department. Any dates given by us for the delivery of Products are estimates only, and we cannot and do not undertake that delivery will occur on any specified date. In the event that the shipping time for your Gear Shop or System order will exceed these time frames, you will receive notification by email or a sales representative will be in contact with you to advise".

Well I havent been contacted by anybody at Alienware to advise of any problems.....enough said.

I still want the system, cus it should be very nice, but things need to move on quickly as I will start to get itchy feet.

I have emailed them today to ask what/why/when? etc in a friendly manner. I even complimented the CS team, cus they are actually nice peeps. Im just not convinced they know whats happening in production.

I should get a reply within 24 hours...I'll keep you posted.

p.s. Does Does the UK Alienware have peeps like Alienware-Fiachra, or AlienRichard? If so I need to find em and by them a drink

Your order seems to be right in line with mine. Seems to be a black hole in the warehouse somewhere between phase 9 & 10. I do find it interesting that the only CS rep I talked to that actually tried to help me spoke with a normal (american) accent. All the others sounded like they were from S. America or India.

Oops AGAIN!

Little update: Got a prompt email reply from CS to tell me that the reason for the delay was related to the technicians having a problem getting a succesful install of the OS. Is this something that I should be concerned about?

Anyway I emailed them back to ask exactly what caused this issue...we'll see what they say.

The guy that emailed me told me that the system should still ship (at the latest) by the end of this week ("no guarantees" of course), even tho the website status today still shows phase 9?

Well, I gotta be honest, my gut tells me that this could be the start of a long drawn out saga.

I really, really hope Im wrong.

Still in diagnostics...its been there for ages now. I rang CS today and they dont even bother trying to update me at this stage of the call...lol...they put me straight on hold to get a senior person to speak to me...unfortunately the guy thats been dealing with it was on the phone...so im waiting for a call back sometime today. My pessimistic human nature tells me that there is something badly wrong.

The initial excitement with the phases has now well and truly passed...each subsequent day is now just another notch on the "nauseating scale"

Most likely, if it is something that will be put in your computer, it will go back to production for that part to be added. And also, you might want to wait more than one minute for someone to reply.

*Kids just don't have patience these days *
