Upgrading a Dell Inspiron I8000

I recently got this from another forum (traded a bunch of junk for it) and I am interested in upgrading the cpu and min-pci

i was looking on ebay and found many different types of mobile P3 1 ghz (currently has a 800), what type of cpu do I need as there seems to be a couple different types of the same cpu, "Micro-PGA2" ?

Also if I buy a mini-pci wifi card for the laptop ...where is the antenna sappose to go?

any help would be super !

that's gonna be a pain in the A**, you're going to have to wire the whole thing yourself which if you don't know what you are doing it's going to be pretty hard. All the new laptops come with the antenna's inside the screen so i don't know if you've ever messed around with hardware on laptops or not but there's not much room to wire something new. I'd just go with a new laptop, not worth the hassle i would think, but that's me.

OH I could do it, gonna consider it a challenge now

I just gotta get eanough info
like if there are wiring kits that I can install such an antenna of am I am gonna have to make one on my own.

What I really want to know is about what cpu's i can put into this thing is it a special socket ?

Dell TechRep first told me that the antenna is on the Motherboard.
Now they gonna replace the whole notebook (i8600C)....

So can someone please confirm if the wifi antenna is in the screen or on the MoBo.

Thanks
