Acer 8104 in stock at Newegg! - Page 2

Think I got lucky... real lucky.. as soon as I read on here that it was in stock, I ordered mine from NewEgg - less than 5 minutes later, when I checked back, the stock count was 0. Whew...

And it arrived this morning

Most e-stores are not up to date with actually stock on hand. I placed an order not minutes after your post and followed immediately with a phone call to confirm hoping to get lucky, and they confirmed that they have no more in stock.

If you think about it, delaying the 8103 is turning out to be amazing business for acer. So many have just decided to fork over the extra 300+ out of impatience.

If the M6BNe that I bought my wife was not at home. Finally getting it today. I would be going crazy waiting for my 8103.

Well I felt pretty good about the ETA of 2/15 for the 8103, but when that came and went and then the new 3/15 ETA came up, I was livid. That just threw up a red flag that they must have a supply issue somewhere in the chain. Hehe the 8103 order is back on with PCNation, but with a full month to wait I still have ample time to cancel if something else comes out that is comparable. We'll see if that damn Dell actually shows up next week.

This supply issue with the 8100 series is poop. If the new Dell comes out next week with the 6800 Ultra Go then I'll just get that. But if I can catch a good deal on a XPS Gen1 I'll get it.

anything like an XPS or any laptop with a 6800 ultra go will me considerably more bulky and quite a bit warmer then the 8104 I just got from newegg. based on the reviews anyway.

I called newegg Monday when they got them instock... (the day it was listed within 2 hours of it appearing on the site) i checked religiously since they told me they would carry it. There was only 10 when I called - I got one of them, and im guessing a few others here got the rest. They were sold out before midnight monday.

O and heres a secret about newegg - I didnt say anything earlier because I wanted to make sure I'd get this lil gem im typing on first. On newegg - if you know something is going to go out of stock, and you know your going to be able to allocate the funds in 7 days you can purchase the item - on the checkout screen select "Prepaid Check" instead of Visa. They will hold the item for 7 days while supposedly waiting on the check. After you have your funds available on lets say your debit card from your checking account call newegg up and say you would like to bill it to the CC thats on the account instead of prepaid check. This is what a CS told me when I asked if there was a way to "hold" something. It worked for me. I bought it monday. paid em Thursday. $28 for next day and Im playing with it on friday. - Worst comes to worst and you cant get the money - just go into order status and click cancel order and let someone else have a go.
Gotta love Newegg.
