How do I find out what model I have??

Ok I'm new to alienware and laptops period. I bought a used alienware 51-M

Nowhere does it say on the bottom or top what exact model it is. I've run a program that gives me invenotry of my computer and it gives me everything but the model #

Any help would be great. I've searched read hundreds and hundreds of threads but couldn't find the answer. And as the second owner AW wasn't much help.

I want to take care of this laptop right so I want to know what model it is so anything I do to it is correct for that model.

Thanks for your time.

Im pretty new Myself, but I'll try to help you out. Its easy (for Me) To distinguish the older A-51m From the new ones, due to the fact that the new A-51m have the black suaceresque plastic on the sides. Also Look at the bottom of the notebook on the chrome sticker, mines says 5620p-p right on it. Hope I at least sent you in the right direction.

766 / 5500

yup, 766/5500, just like mine . What are the stats on that bad boy? If it came with the Nividia Quadro Go1000 it is either the Roswell-m, MJ12-m, or Ozma-m (all the creative/professional models). Either that or they purchased the upgrade. Either way, it is an awsome laptop and you shouldn't be dissapointed.

You can run Belarc Advisor as a free download and it will tell you everything about your system, also the sticker should give a model number, product number, and serial number on it. Between both of these you should be able to find the exact model of your notebook. Good luck

It's been a great system so far. I do wish even as a second generation user of this that I could use alienwares sight.
I've run belarc software and it doesn't give the model # it just says area 51-m not the exact model #

Thanks for all the help. I need it for when I'm away from home and I wanted one that could also play the higher end games too. I convinced the wife that it was necessary.

This site has been a savior.

Thanks to all that have helped.

There was no sticker that said the model#. There was an alienware sticker that had the cust. service number on it and had just area 51-m

The other sticker is a black one that just states the FCC mumbo jumbo.
And the last sticker is the windows sticker.

Maybe it was taken off or it came off, who knows.

Thanks,

Bryan
