I give you two cat-killers... ...Oskar & Ylvie...

They keep our garden free of cats (they kept coming to reliefe their digestive system in our garden).
One day they chased a cat up a tree, it stayed there the whole day as I only came home in the evening after work to see what these two had done.
Saved the cat and returned it (it wouldn't walk after I took it out of the tree).

I couldn't scold the two as they only acted out there instincts.

Thought I'd revitalize this thread since we have so many new members. Time to get more pets posted and Aurora's "little puppies" must have grown some by now! Wasted by a Quake 4 marathon:

I wish i could own a pet...Especially Cats, I love cats...but alas I'm allergic to cats and certain breeds of dogs...which dog breeds you ask? Well I don't know, I know a friend of mine has a crazy small dog, and with-in 2 minutes I'm sneezing and clutching my inhaler for dear life.

I don't remember seeing this string before...

Here's a picture of my cat Buddy. I'd just returned from Costco, and was unpacking the stuff, turned around and saw this...

Here he is, pissed after a bath...

nice thread to bring back. I'll get pics of my aminals but you get the St. Bernard just the way he is. He stands up and boxes with you if you even mention the word 'bath'.

Zelly - Stasya rawks!

Hammer - Are you saying that Buddy hitchhiked home with you in the Costco box?

Alienhead - How about a Cornish Rex? I have a friend that has two of them - she has allergies but they don't seem to be a problem. They have short curly hair. Very exotic.

If you're really into cats, you might want to check out this breed (the Siberian). I also am allergic to cats, but this breed is a bit different. "Scientists have named the protein in the feline saliva, FEL D-1. When the cat cleans itself, the protein then dries on the fur leaving dander. The dander particles are small and air filters cannot remove them from the air. The Siberian is void of the FEL D1 protein, therefore no dander. However if the allergic party suffers from the IgE late trigger antibody reaction, their chances of compatibility of owning a Siberian are lowered."

These cats, companionwise are more like dogs. But they are quite active and get pretty big. Males are usually around 18-21 lbs (US) and females are usually 15-19 lbs at full growth which they say is between 3-5 years. They aren't little pussies! Mine is not declawed either and you'd be hard pressed to find a breeder to sell you one if you were going to declaw it. They are pedigreed and aren't cheap. Depending on the coloration (seal point, white, black, black smoke, etc) will cost you upwards of $800 per kitten.

No, he just snuck into the room while my back was turned. He's sitting next to a box of his cat food, so I think he was ready to eat...

Of the pics I can see, everyone has beautiful animals! Spaced, what is your cat's name?

I have four cats right now...no dogs, but I do like the larger breeds. First is my Alien kitty, Spooky.
Her birthday is around Halloween, and she likes to occasionally play fetch--when SHE wants to, that is.

My newest kitten is Neo. He and Spooky both came from the local animal shelter.
Neo is all tomcat, and likes to chew on everything:

Chalupa is my oldest cat. She was abandoned when she was between 2 and 3 weeks old.
I had to keep her separated from the other cats at first.

My favorite cat is Babar; he just turned 4. His job is caretaker of the younger ones--he plays with them and keeps them clean.
He's pushing 20 pounds, but he thinks he's a kitten and usually sleeps on my chest at night.
I ended up with him because the lady who brought him home from the pet store did not want a male cat--and apparently she did not know how to tell the difference.

Sorry about your loss...

My dog Lucy, a weimaraner died about a year ago, and I still miss her terribly. It's a good thing the joy they bring is much greater than the pain of their loss.

Wow flykitty, nice group. I can see who runs things at your house...

My cat Buddy was 22 pounds at his most solid fighting weight, but now in his old age he's about half that.

Can you post a pic of your cat, I've never seen or heard of this breed of cat...Sounds pretty interesting...18-20lbs is huge....But having a slave would be nice.lol.

And Spaced, the breed sounds pretty cool as well. Some of my friends say that I might be better off with a dark haired short haired cat...But I'm a little skeptic on that note. I do like Kitties...they are soooo cute... Kittie...kittie...kittie....
