I have noticed this mainly on 'Enemy Territory' but I think it happens on Farcry too - When some sound files (e.g. in Enemy Territory the announcer says stuff like 'The enemy has taken the forward bunker') the game seems to stutter for a split second.
I have done the following which has helped but it has not gone away completely:
- Turned off XP firewall
- Increased mem available to the game
- Re-installed sound driver (realtek)
- Disabled anti virus
This coupled with the too quiet microphone issue makes me wonder ifhe onboard sound is up to the job. I really hope this is a driver issue and that I dont end up having to buy an audigy PCMCIA card to fix the problem.
