I had it and tried useing the ATI 64 bit drivers and it didnt work so great

Which ones? The ones from ATI's website? They don't support the Mobility's properly...

Here I have the modded drivers mirrored because the site that hosts them is down more often than not (at least when people are looking for the drivers):

Those one will let you install fine.

Windows XP Professional x64 Edition provides a rich platform to integrate 64-bit technical applications and existing 32-bit business applications using the Windows on Windows 64 (WOW64) x86 emulation layer, providing customers with the ability to move to 64-bit computing without having to sacrifice their existing investment in 32-bit software and Windows expertise.
Well it looks like we could still run any existing 32bit software we have, but have there been any issues or bugs with certain programs? What would be the benefits of running this 64bit OS? Since the applications most of us are still using are 32 bit would there be any benefit to upgrade?

Not really much improvement benefit out of programs of 32-bit, most notable is with on machines that had more than 4GB of RAM (the maximum 32-bit windows can use), the system would move all the 64-bit code into the upper RAM and give the entire 4GB to the 32-bit programs.

That of course doesn't affect our notebooks.

You should put a link if you post something like this.

Everyone can get it HERE.

Enjoy!

I didnt DL the one off ATI, I used another one that was "tweaked" for 64-bit. The screen looked fuzzy and it scrolled really messed up.

Has anyone tried using a USB to Serial converter?
I am currently using Win XP64 1289, I take it this new version has more driver support. The current version (that I'am using) doesn't does not have drivers that support USB to Serial communications.

Any help in this area appreciated.

Downloading it... Wish I had another HDD to install it on

I used Partion Magic to create a second partion on my Hard Drive. I highly reccomend this practice. At least if the secondary fouls up you still have a fall back drive to work from.

By the way I'm currently downloading too.

Has anyone confirmed that this is actually B1433?

I should have checked the MS newsgroups on this before I posted...

Oh yeah! Didn't think about that!

*grabs his USB flash drive where his PartitionMagic is stored*

34% Downloaded... Only getting 66 Kb/s download at the moment, my torrents keep slowing it down tho (luckily this one's nearly done and so I won't start any new ones after it finishes)

Well I'm out and about now and it's downloading on my desktop, I'd expect it to be done but I won't find out until I get home @ 10 or so.

Hmm.. Well apparently when I copied PartitionMagic onto my USB drive before I didn't get all the files, so I can't resize the partition (because it has to reboot to load some file which it doesn't have). So now I'll have to figure out what happened to my PartitionMagic disc.

It was going 145 Kb/s when I left.
