Is your wireless card listed in the device manager?

Is the SSID on the access point you use broadcast?

Can you see wireless light "e" below the touch pad when you press fn+f2?
Was your wireless working in Win XP 32-bit?

it worked after i posted, but the signal is low, under win 32 it is very good-excellent but here low, even the signal strength is 2 lines out of 5.

i am facing freezing when downloading, it happens sometimes without downloading, but not as much as when i download a file, the freezeing lasts for 0.5-1 second for every 5-10 seconds running normaly.

also installed avast, and it is working properly, but slows down the system.

in general, didnt find any interesting thing in winxp64 yet.

I get the same when there is network activity, I beleive it is related to the wireless driver. If someone has a fix for this, please post it.

Brian

By the way, HD benchmarks are interesting! Try it!

i did brian, and we already discussed itin the other thread. what we are getting is doubling in every numberand halfing the access time, but real world performance is the same, nothing changed, therefore it is useless. funny? yes it is funny and makes someone to smile, but meantime it is disappointing

Touchpad doesn't work in x64 Safe Mode.

Anyone know the registry tweak (x86/x64 should be the same) to let you use the 2000-style File/Folder Permissions dialog within Normal Mode so I don't have to go to Safe Mode if I need to do that?

blue heart, I think you mis-understood me, I was also saying that I have the same problem as you with the 1 second hang when I'm downloading. Do you have a fix for that?

I have a question for you guy-n-gals...

My M6811 "specks are below" is dual booted with WinXP x64 & Emachines WinXP home "I use BootitNG" & it has 2 issues so far with WinXP x64..

(1) When ever I start WinXP x64 up I may be able to use my wireless connection "sometimes not" but if I was to reboot for any reason I must use my wired connection because it will not even access my router.
Each time I do see the ((e)) below the mouse area & my taskbar notes that my connection is OK but to no avail I've yet to be able to get a consistent connection "only had it twice."

(2) WinXP x64 runs wonderfully "for the most part" but if I was to unplug & try to run off the battery the screen goes EXTRA TALL & mouse cursor is almost nonexistent & inaccurate, the only thing I can do at that point is to press the power button & shut down & then restart while plugged into wall power.
The drivers for video is the ones that have been mentioned here.

Any info would be appreciated...
Thanx

1) not sure on that one. A few people have had wireless issues. The drivers in this release are still the first 64-bit broadcom wireless drivers.

2) Disable powerplay and it should cure the problem. FWIW, if it does happen again, you can still push the windows key, then "u" and "u" again to shut down when that problems crops up, istead of doing a hard power down.

After you install windows 64bit, can you still install the preloaded apps from the D: if you still have the recovery on it? I know the windows 64bit uses that x86 program files folder and the applications would install to just program files?

Can't install PowerDVD... Get an error about "Not enough memory" or something lol

Haven't tried the other ones I don't care for any others. I should be able to figure out a way to manually install PowerDVD as long as the files are still intact (copying them somewhere or something) once I get a chance to sit down and play with it.

Just go there.... I think that links to the download section... They have every single driver or app you need. Including antivirus and wireless drivers..

I haven't installed XP64 bit yet. I'm just going to wait till they introduce it. So I can just transfer over to 64bit without much hassle.

edit: seems like they lost alot of their downloads, from there site upgrade. damn.

Uhh G? When's the last time you actually checked the link? Their download secton has been out for a little while now because they got hacked.
