1280x768 and LCD resize

I'm running a M6805. Why does the LCD stretch the screen WAY too wide horizontally in this resolution? It does the goofy virtual desktop nonsense. One would think a 1280x800 screen could scale to 1280x768.

I've got a game that only supports this one widescreen resolution.

I assume you unchecked the "scale image to panel size" in the advanced display options? If so, it is something goofy in the game. I have run mine at several resolutions (including 1280x768) with no stretching.

When I set Windows to 1280x768 it goes into virtual desktop mode where I can scroll left and right to see the entire desktop. I imagine it's something with the video drivers. I'm using modded ATI Catalyst 5.1 right now.

Yea, the drivers you are using probably aren't enabling the 1280x800 resolution of the 6805 LCD. I found the Omega drivers work properly. The mod tool that allows you to load normal Catalysts on a mobile GPU don't enable the extra resolutions either.

Anyone know how to enable this resolution for the regular Cats in case we don't want to use Omega's?

Yea, I'm useing 5.2 Cat drivers from www.ati.com and they work awsome. I cant seem to get omega's drivers to work right. The link for the tool is http://www.driverheaven.net/patje/
