I usually say that XP pro is worth the upgrade, but I keep hearing weird things about how XP Pro is slower on VAIO's.

Would I have to buy the whole version or just the upgrade version of xp pro ? I wonder how it would make a differnece only on viao's ? thanks though for the input ..Jesse

It may be an issue with Sony Drivers, but I really don't know - it's only anecdotal. However, XP runs with more stability from a clean install rather than an upgrade.

You can use an upgrade version but why not get a full version off irc try packetnews.com (you just bought a new licence don't pay for another). Sony's 'Shared Library Utility' is important after a clean install so you can install all the drivers, etc. you can download it and other files here http://esupport.sony.com/perl/swu-li...EN&mdl=VGNA690 if you have a problems doing a clean install try this forum http://p200.ezboard.com/funofficialsonyfrm8 and if you want to show those pics you can upload them here http://imageshack.us/ and use the forum tags with the links it produces.

Bright enough that you have to turn it down in a darkened room or it hurts your eyes...

Hi Jesse,

I have a Vgn-A190 and live in Australia. I have upgraded my software to use Vaio Zone which comes standard with your A690.

The problem is my remote control still only controls the old vaio media software and I can't get a hold of the driver to control the vaio zone software

I was wondering if I could ask you a favor. Could you send me the driver from your lappy? I would appreciate it very much !!!

The files I need are at:

C:\Program Files\Sony\usbsircs

If you could zip up all of the files in this directory and send them to me I would be very greatfull!

Thanks in advance,
Daniel.
