I'll post this in the FAQ as well, but wanted to give a heads up....

I've received this from RJTECH.COM regarding it. As many of you know, they've offer great prices and services to people in this forum community. They've been pretty responsive as well. If you have questions on it, just email them at info@rjtech.com

Now on to Asus Z71V: http://www.smilepak.com/Z71V_Project.doc

From what I was told, it will be available very soon around the corner. They should be offering it on their site anytime now.

By the way....

AKA: Voodoo Envy M:515 ODM

EDIT: Removed the "RAWK!!!" in protest of the poor screen choice...

I just don't understand why they put all this good stuff in and then cripple it with XGA...
I'm confused... it's a 15.4" widescreen, but the resolutions listed are all 4:3? So is it WUXGA, or WSXGA+ or WXGA? In general it looks extremely sweet, though. I wonder how much it will cost?

I wonder how does it actually look compared to the M6N series. From the pictures it look pretty nice. The chassis seems thin and sweet

Yes, it certainly looks nice. It looks like it should be a real alternative to the Acer 810x notebooks.
Did they give you any indication of price?
Why oh why do so many companies avoid SXGA+ and WSXGA+. Do they figure that power users want UXGA and that 6 pack joe shopping at Best Buy only wants XGA? It drives me mad I say.

Aye I love the 810X books but it is packed chocked with features I don't need (specifically I'd prefer to upgrade Ram and HD myself).

What's the Nvidia MEP43? Do they mean the NV43M (GeForce Go 6600)?

From what I've gathered, yes

Just like ATI M31 = 9700
um ATI M11 is 9700

Just to add to the chorus of disappointment (in case Asus cares or RJtech have any influence). Why no WSXGA or WUXGA, why no enhanced screen? Another otherwise nice notebook has been ruined by poor choices in (to me) the most important part of any notebook - the screen.

My god I want the Z71V so bad it hurts. No indication on price? Widescreen would be nice but it won't stop me.
It looks too round to me...
In most cases, I'm all in favour of curves ... but not when it comes to notebooks.
Again no High definition audio support?
I don't really care for the look either. I liked the look of the M6NE much better. It doesn't really matter though, because no SXGA = no sale in my mind.
