Wanna share any coupons or discount numbers?
I can assure you that for the time being there will be no coupons to offer on this series of notebooks. As I had previously stated, we fully expect a price increase in the very near future

What's not to like? No one is really forcing you to read it.

Oh man, I'm floating in the clouds right now. This is the notebook I have been waiting for. As a plust... 6.5hours battery life! Geez!

IST: Can you confirm the 6.5 hours of battery life? I'm assuming this is under light-use? And (please?) could you find out how long it lasts playing games or DVD playback? Thanks!

EDIT: More questions . Do you deliver to Canada, and if so, is there any additional charges or delivery time? How many units do you have left? I would prefer to have mine by April 5 (birthday), and do not want to get caught in the group waiting for the WSXGA+ screens to arrive. When would you suggest ordering it (as late as possible) while still being able to get it by late March?

Thanks tons!

EDIT2: Was just browing your site and under "our company" the sentence reads "Integrated System Technologies, Inc. was in 2000." Is it not supposed to read "Integrated System Technologies, Inc. was founded in 2000." Just though I'd let you know

Hi Nietsnie,

I can confirm this, using the demo unit we have with no Power4 Gear software installed, we are getting closer to 4.5 hours of battery life, but keep in mind, everything is on. I have been told by a counterpart that he got 5.25 hours out of his, I have not been able to verify this.

We do indeed ship to Canada, you can use our configurator to get shipping prices. We currently have 5 units remainding for pre sales.

Thanks

Is the machine a legit 6.5 or is more of a 6.8?
I think IST stated earlier it was a touch below 6.5Lbs.

Is the Z71 quieter than the M6BNe? How would you compare the two?

If you wouldn't mind another comparison -- WSXGA vs WXGA aside, how would you compare the screens between the two in terms of viewing angles (both horizontal and vertical), brightness, and color?

Thanks!

4.5 hours everything on...just on? Or is that playing a game or dvd? I guess all companies push the envelope of truth with the amount of battery umph but I was hoping for closer to their claim. Especially as I bet with heavy use that 4.5 wouldn't hold up, but hopefully I'm wrong.

The video card in it... what are the clock speeds (core/mem)? If it is the faster one i may just have to order one... Also is the VRAM DDR1, 2 or 3?

Sorry about the bad press.....(from old post)

Yep, that's an interesting thread

I bought from ISTNC and so far they appear very good. They have answered all my questions extremely quickly and in a nice manner. Although they only officially have Asus's dead pixel policy, they stated that they check every notebook that goes out and don't let dead-pixels go out because "that wouldn't go over well". Seems like a great company!
LOL, yeah, I gotta say geared to play aren't handling themselves properly. It is never a good idea in sales to bash the competition. That's basic sales really, and they should've said that the other companies, ISTNC is a great company, but here's where we are better...blah blah blah. But instead they try and cut the legs out of ISTNC and stand a top them and say look how great we are! But standing on a company you just cut down doesn't get you as high as saying your better than one that you built up. Again, basic sales stuff.

Then again, looking at geared 2 play's website I'd never order from them myself. I get really nervous when I see websites like those, espeically in 2005. Maybe if this was 1999.

In any event, good luck with the laptop, and hopefully get it quickly and put up some reviews

so how much power graphic-wise is this pushing? Any benchmarks? I dont know much about this graphics card. How does it compare to the 9700 in many gamer-ish notebooks nowadays?
It will be far superior. The x700 from ATI is kind of the PCIE version of the 9700, and the x700 is definently better. And the 6600 is better than the x700, so there should be very noticable improvement.

Im interested in the Z71A. But it doesnt seem that it supports s-ata or ddr2? Is this true?
