Asus Z71V Spec *Available Here* - Page 12

Ahhh ok
minijohn I will be heading over to Evesham store next to Oxford street Monday so I will let you and everyone know what happens.
It does seem that a few laptops are sublicensing the Asus z71V configs, but I just wonder how good the screens are on them. Although the AJP can be configed with a bigger hdd and faster cpu than Evesham 6600 go offering, I have looked at some of the reviews of the AJP's 15.4 screens on other notebooks and have found it to be of lesser quality.

Another thing I have noticed is that they all seem to be U.K. companies coming out with the Z71V clone specs. Although I'm happy about there now being more laptops out with decent specs, its making my life harder choosing one

enjoying yourself, smilepak?

I've just ordered a 9300, if it's not my taste I will be back on the Z71V trail.
But the Asus version of the laptop will not be coming out in the U.K. From the email I got from ASUS they said that the Z71V is a barebones system made by Microtronica and other companies such as AJP and Evesham will offer a very similar model in the U.K.

I have also just ordered - from Evesham
Evesham Voyager C510 (PC Pro review spec with upgrades)
Pentium M 760 2GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 533MHz FSB
1GB DDRII RAM
80 GB S-ATA HDD
WSXGA+ 1680x1050 Resolution screen
3 Yr warranty - 2yrs on-site, 3rd yr RTB, labour only

£1301 including delivery
Delivery quoted as 2 weeks (but could be up to 4 weeks, depending on demand!)
I hope it's 2 weeks, not 4!
I will let you all know what I think when I get it.

Nice one, looks like a nice notebook for the price. Warranty looks good there, I took a gamble and only went with 1 year with the dell but saved £250.
Keep us posted
The Dell warranty upgrades seem very steep - the Evesham upgrade from 1 yr OSM/2yr RTB to 2 yr OSM/1yr RTB was only an extra £50, and seemed like a bargain, so I went for it!

Z71V looks real good.....it says the weight is 6.5 lbs INCLUDING the adapter...so is this thing lighter than V6V?

It has NO chance of being anywhere near as light as the V6V...
It's probably just a fraction heavier than the M6Ne

The original spec of the V6V was used with the 4cell battery. Which made it approx 5lbs, or less.

But the US model shipped was with an 8CELL battery, which came in as 5.49lbs approx.
