Extending Battery Life??

Something about a setting in the BIOS that uses half CPU power while the computer is operating on battery power? Any truth to this cause i cant find anything in the bios about it. I tried to watch a DVD on the plane the other day and only got about 45 min. Ive cycled the batteries several times and 45 min is as good as it gets. Too bad we can't install an additional battery into one of the CD-ROM slots. oh well. Any help is appreciated!!

there's a bios setting that throttles down ur cpu to 50% only if ur on battery and it exceeds a certain temp. adam described it..and its called Throttle Duty Rate:

"It means your CPU will run @ 50% when on batteries and if it were to reach a temp threshold. The max throttle is 50%, the min is 0."

i'm not sure if this would have any effect on the length of the battery since ur only watching a dvd.
