i just tested my lapcool2, and I am keeping it!
I played for 15 minutes without it and ran at 56celcius
then I played the same level for another 15 and i ran at 51 and quickly dropped to 47 and idle at 38....so its worth it!

edit: i meant to say a quick jump from 51 to 47 then down to 40 very quickly when compared to having the lapcool2 off. I have the lapcool2 on max power as soon as i boot up.

how did you get those 7180 drivers to be accepted by the geforce card? Apparently their quadro hardware only...... Theyre not accepted by geforce 6800gor3. Unless you have a quadro card in your 9860

it seems like a good product. Too bad that the thermal design of the laptops is not such that there is no need for these cooler products.

I dont know about the 6800 ddr3 card, but my version 1 6800 card sees the 71.8x drivers just fine using the modified .INF posted along with the drivers on laptopvideo2go.com.

my sig has my info, not too bad for a non ddr3 card

I just "save Target as" from the laptopvideo2go.com (right click on "30.56"), and have it save to the directory that the drivers expanded or installed to (when you run the 71.81.exe file, that same directory you have it install to).

basically you want to over write the "nv4_disp.inf" file in the directory with the modified one from the site.

hope that helps out a bit... works for me
