...Meanwhile, we have reported previously on Apple's interest in using the Cell processor to power future machines. Apple's share price rose yesterday, amid speculation that it is soon to announce a deal with Sony/IBM/Toshiba to use the chip...

Cool beans if its true.

WOW! That is amazing! If they use the Cell processor (and they most likely will since they are best buddies with IBM) they will once again hold the worlds FASTEST Personal "PC". Go Apple!

Isn't it a strange coincidence that the 2 companies that were once bitter rivals are now everyday bedfellows?

I heard that Sony was having issues with the CELL processors. Only reason I throw this in, is that imn closely following the PS3, which is supposed to run a CELL processor. Im sure Apple will be happy to get their hands on it, but they may need to work out some kinks until they get a "perfect" chip.
