Hi,

I've bought a notebook but it's too expensive too upgrade its RAM
I need to upgrade from 512 to 1 GiG. I'm living in turkey and Sony wants 364 USD.- for 512 RAM

Currently i'm using 2x256 RAM. I need to make this 2x512 RAM.

Does anyone know compatible RAM brands with sony vaio ? or any suggestions...

my system is ;
Sony Vaio PCG-K195HP
P4 2.8 - 512 DDR SDRAM - 40 HDD

Didn't you ask this in the general forum or am I confusing you with someone else?

As soon as you know the type of RAM you need, just look at online retailers to find a better price. Sony RAM is quite expensive, but other RAM is just as good.

Fortunately for you, your laptop uses cheaper 200-pin DDR333 sodimm. You can find these all over the place for 75-100 US dollars for 512MB. The only downside is the shipping costs to Turkey (I'm estimating $20-$35). Still, you can get 2x512 with international shipping for under $250 and then sell your current 2x256 to recoup some funds.
