NEED Instructions and help!!!

I have a 8790 laptop! I need to find out how to remove the dvd drive and replace with a new one. I need instructions on how to remove the dvd drive and put a new one in.

Also were can i find a place to buy another one? The one that is in it PcTorque doesnt sell anymore on there website. Its the 2x dvd rw drive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Open up the manual and... Remove A/C and Battery. Take off the plate on the bottom of the laptop (the one over the memory fan). The simply locate the tail end of the DVD drive and gently push it out with a pencil or similiar non-cunducting blunt object - wooden kitchn sppon works quite well. Do this gently.

The take the new drive and "pop/slam" it in. That's all there is to it.

I'd go for the NEC 6500A (I have one). You can get it at New Egg for a reasonable price. Less than $135 with shipping included.

THANK you for reply and i am going to go with the drive you suggested!!! plus it is better than the one i had in from when i bought it. thanks again you were great help now lets see if i can install it lol
