Very disappointed with Newegg.com!!! - Page 2

allright guys, this is an updated on what happend after I submitted a claim with my CC & BBB. Today (6 days later) I got a call from someone at Newegg.com and he asked me to forward the e-mails, I did that and he said he will research on this matter and would get back to me. Later same day, he called me back and asked me again to explain what happened. After that he concluded and I will quote him "You don't deserve to get charged restocking fee in this case and we will be refunding the full amount..." I was pleased to hear that they finally resolved this and I will continue shopping at newegg, but when the time comes to purchase a laptop I will think twice before I do that or I might shop somewhere else.

Also, I want to thank you for all your comments and suggestions, BBB helped a lot actually in this case because he was mentioning them a few times and wanted me to post response that the claim will be fullfilled.

Newegg is the BEST online hardware provider bar none. I buy everything from them, unless they don't have a certain product in stock at the time. Looks to me like you failed to really review the notebooks on the web before purchasing them. They don't "rent" notebooks, they sell them. I would charge you an overstocking fee as well.

Klas, glade to hear you got what was promised to you. I agree I found better prices and free 2nd day at zipzoomfly.com. I feel newegg is going downhill too.

Also what where the models and cons of them over the one you finally chose?

I will agree that Newegg is one of the best (certainly not THE BEST like you say)

First of all, I did extensive research before choosing the right laptop, and if you read my review I mentioned that there were not many reviews about this particular laptop. I know why now... It a appeared faulty to me the first day I got it and I even contacted Acer support to confirm this, I really tried to ignore the problems it had, but it failed to meet my expectations. If I would be renting a laptop I would probably buy it from someone who offers 30 day money back gurantee and I was aware of Newegg's return policy. Finally, regardless of what their policy says they promised to refund full amount on the first place!

Did you ever explain exactly what was wrong with it? I only read the first couple of posts, not the entire thread (I was feeling lazy). What exactly was 'wrong' with the first two?

I've been noticing that NewEgg no longer has the best prices. Their stuff used to arrive really fast, but that doesn't happen any more either (they're only 25 miles from my house). I agree that they're no longer as terrific as they used to be; I can order stuff from out of state, pay similar shipping charges, pay no sales tax, and it will get here as fast as NewEgg used to. It's sad...

I'm glad the BBB worked out for you. So many people think it is pointless to turn in complaints to them, but if your complaint is a valid one they do a good job I think.

Well, just so you guys know and think twice before ordering laptop from newegg.com. Make sure it's the one you want, otherwise you will be stuck with it.

After number of e-mails and phone calls they ended up refunding me all the money owed for 2 laptops with exception of $100. I guess it's better then loosing 450 alltogether.
