nice deal!!

still find $750 off better, hate dealing with MIR's.

I've been on the Dell site for the last hour deciding on my 700m specs! How's you get that 400$ rebate? I'm looking at a similar system that's being priced at 1100 with the 600 off coupon!

And what sort of student discount can you get?

Good score! You've got a killer portable, and you have enough left over in your wallet to buy a MONSTER desktop

He got the rebate from last week's deal most likely. If you catch dell as soon as they update you can usually get the rebate + % off.

I have not heard if the people actually get the rebate though. I just know that it goes through on the order page. I would check expiration dates before ordering if that is important to you.

it's not fair, dell US is much better than dell canada.

When I ordered my desktop a couple of years ago Dell had put up there new discounts before taking down there old ones. So I ordered it. When the online order was reviewed I was called about my order. Needless to say I did not get both deals.

I hope that your order goes through.

Same thing happened about a month ago with when the $500 coupon was made valid just before the rebate and free upgrade on memory expired. My order got cancelled (and everyone's who did the same as I) but when I called, the custromer representative reinstated the order for the same price.

What step was your order cancelled in?
I called in to change my configuration, so they assigned me a new order number. I asked if my rebate would be valid, and he says it's still on there. He even upgraded my RAM for free because of the current promotion.

Right now, it says it's "In Production."

Unfortunately, the $400 rebate expired this morning. I got that price with an automatic 25% off and a $400MIR...

If you call Dell Home and explain that you are a college student (valid student ID, school ID, etc), then you get can anywhere from 8%-15% off. Your school has to participate in their program, though.

It was cancelled in pre-production however I remember people mentioning on this forum that theirs was cancelled even during the boxing stage. If the order was taken over the phone then it will most likely go through. The rebate I got was valid.

I ordered a 8600 a month ago. I got 20% off and a $250 rebate. The rebate has been deposited already! :-)

How much does 700m go for refurbed? I am tempted to buy one if I can get it for about $500. I would sell my 8100. I am also waiting to get 9300.

Yes, on the FatWallet forums, some people are saying that their orders are being cancelled, but mine's still in "Boxing." Thanks for the reassurance

Good luck. If it doesn't just keep on calling a different csr until one puts it through.
