Hi all,
Just got my 5660-v and lovin it. I do have one problem though my linksys wireless card wpc11 doesnt seem to work on my new laptop. I know the card is good because I put it back in old dell laptop and I am up on the web. It gives code10 when installing (shutdown) and the power light goes out on the card. Any help would be appreciated!

I was using the exact same setup 5660/XP Pro/WPC11. Did you install the software before you ever put the card in or did you put it in and let it auto detect? You may want to remove the card, uninstall it, reinstall, then insert the card.

I gave linksys a call because I was unable to duplicate your problem. They said it happens to some systems when they're being installed and to reflash the firmware in the card which will reset all the regestry settings in your system and you won't see it happen again. You can get the firmware from HERE (small 338K file).

The instrustions:

1. Please download the WPC11 Firmware file and open it then click the Unzip button.
2. Please make a sure your WPC11 has been installed on your PC. Click Start, and choose Run. In the box that appears, enter "C:\Linksys Driver\WPC11v3 Firmware\Winupdate.exe"
3. Click the OK button.
4. The Firmware Upgrade Utility begins to upgrade your WPC11v3.
5. Click the OK button after it's done.

I have that same card and it worked perfectly w/ my 86. I tried to flash the firmware (because I like trying to fix thing that already work lol) and the flash app keeps crashing on me. Oh well maybe its for the better since I just ruined a D-link wireless router ( got it for 69 bucks yea!) by flashing the firmware on it (and by dropping it, but we wont tell D-link that) ahaha anyway... yea...
