I wonder if it's the same as the one from the German FTP site... hmm.
I just installed it. so far it's just like the germany 07 bios verion. i'll report if there's any different

oohhhh, pretty asus logo on boot now...
after installing this bios from asus usa site, my asus probe doesn't report as high temperture as the germany site one. The 207 bios from germany gave me around 72c running on Super performance and 66c for gaming on asus power4gear with normal load. After changing to the usa version,it gives me around 66c on super performance and 62c on gaming mode. I'm very satisfying with the usa version than the germany version.

Do you notice louder (fan) noise? That was my main problem with the Germany one...
fan noise remains the same as old germany 207 version.

Darn..now I'm disappointed.
It was quite annoying on my M6...

I guess I'll stick with my 0206 version until I hear more about the new one.

Is it different than the 0507 B&W logo with the oversize Centrino logo in the lower right? Can you post a pic of it?

it's the same one as the germany 207.

Anybody else have experience with this new BIOS?

Yeah, I flashed from the German version to this one, I can't tell if the fan is quieter or not as I use headphones or have sound playing, but it seems to not blow as hard when I put my hand up to the vent... And you guys say this is the US site, the support site is international, and no matter which country site you go from you get linked to this support site, so this BIOS can be used in any and all lappys, not just the US ones (just clarifying)

I also flashed to this one... and noticed that it was only slightly different from the German one.
Still some fan noise...but not as loud as the German one.

With that said, I hate noise so I flashed back to 0206... gorgeous silence.

AuroraS, so can the bios be flashed back to older versions? I wanted to try other versions but I am not sure if I am able to flash back to 0205 afterwards if I decided to.

I was running the --05 bios and my cpu temps were 55 or so browsing up to 75 with a few more things running... I flashed this bios (from the US site) and now the computer is noticeable cooler, browsing temps 40-44, highest I've seen is in the 60s. . .

the problem is that the fan is pretty much always on at 3000rpm...its starting to bother me but I really like the lower temps. I tried speedfan but can't get it to see the fan - has anyone got it working with the m6bne?

I never noticed the fan with the old bios, but also I don't know if I'm all the sudden super-sensitive to fan noise after reading so much about it here and on notebookreview lol, but am I right in thinking that the fan shouldn't be running when the temp is 40 right? anyone have similar issue/ solution short of flashing an older bios?

Yes, the bios CAN be flashed back to a previous version... I'd post you the link of how to do that, but I'm feeling lazy
If you want to learn how, leave me a PM and I'll get back to you ASAP

And yes, I notice that the fan is always on too... and at times it gets on my nerves. I find that if you stress the CPU a lot and then put the CPU back down to 600 MHz (i.e put the Power4Gear on Super Performance for a while, then Game Mode) the fan quiets down to a point where it is inaudible.

i have the 207 bios now, the temps are so damn low on my laptop its
plugged into AC with CPU at A constant 1600MHz
47°C idle
50°C doing internet stuff
57°C 3 hours cpu@max GPU@max

on battery/highpower its even lower
40°C idle
45°C internet stuff
55°C cpu and gpu @ max

fan can't be heard cuz its only at 3000, fan never spins at 4000 anymore.

is your fan _always_ on at 3000? mine seems to be, and I can definitely hear it - is it bad that I can hear my fan when Asusprobe says its working at 3000?

I was thinking maybe I should open the laptop up and spray the fan etc with air, but I've only had it since mid-october...not sure if thats necessary yet...?

The 3000RPM with 0207 version seemed to be significantly louder than the 3000RPM with 0205/0206. With the 0205/0206, I can not hear anything when it says 3000RPM, but I do feel air coming out. Now, the 3000RPM could be heard but the noise level is acceptable. I really don't know why. I got the numbers from Asus Probe, so....

With 0207,

Fan goes off at 44C, then on again when it reaches 54C. (3000RPM)
