Updated Audigy ZS 2 Notebook?

I was looking at computer stuff last night, and saw that the Creative Audigy card for notebooks was in new packaging. The one I bought (& returned) came in a box, like the rest of Creative's products, but the card I saw last night is in a blister package similar to what Belkin packs their USB hubs in. Has anyone seen/read/heard of an update to the cards themselves, or is this nothing more than a packaging update?

What store was it you saw that?

Best Buy. I also went by CompUSA to verify the different packaging, and they still have the boxed cards instead of the blister-pack style that BBY has.

Oh finally! Best Buy is selling these cards. This is good news. Soon everyone and their uncle will be bringing in their laptop wondering why their Audigy soundcard has static and popping. Hopefully this will get some news over to notebook forums and we can get this thing fixed.

Wether these are upgraded hardware revisions I don't know...could be ..but I wouldn't bet on it.

It's just a matter of time.

Actually, I was playing with a friend's card last night, and I think I might have found a fix for the audio issues. The steps are as follows:

1. Launch the EAX Console.
2. Select the Clean-up tab.
3. Uncheck the "enable audio cleanup" option.

I am using it on my notebook right now (his laptop hasn't come back from Sony yet), and running the same games as I did with mine, there's no audio interference. I did run it under the initial settings to see if it was a new version (it isn't), but once I unchecked the audio cleanup option, the sound cleared up noticeably.

But that's the problem.

The sound clears up noticeably but never completely. I tried what you said but no improvement.

Odd - I would up getting one from BBY, and after making that setting, I still am having no problems soundwise. I've played World of Warcraft for three-plus hours straight, without a hitch as far as the sound goes.

Is your card set to "high performance"? Mine is, and I wonder if the performance settings might also make a difference in sound output.

Hey, over at Creative forums there is a guy who swore he saw new drivers for the Audigy 2 ZS Notebook this morning!

But..they apparently immediately took them down.
Looks like he might be right. They took down the old ones too. Currently there are no drivers to download. Hopefully this is good news for the static issue!

Ah ha, I did the auto update feature and I found the new drivers. Since I've ONLY installed the Drivers for my Audigy 2 Notebook. Here are the update notes:

Autoupdate is back!

From what the fix list describes...well hey. Those are the exact same problems I was having. All of them! Testing...

Edit: Ok, it's down. I got all the parts except the driver.

Update is GREAT. You can now use the ZSN with your laptops builtin speakers.
Works great with Dell i9200's 2.1 system.

Also, Blister Packaging is the new card that fits into PCMCIA slots with better clearance.

The internal speakers work in my m6805 now. But that's about it for the fixes.

I am still having popping here and there especially with Windows sounds. I can still here that pop when you mute the audio or drag the volume slider all the way to zero. It doesn't matter if it's the MediaSource player or Windows Media Player 10, I still get the pop.

anyone not quite get this to work? I have the new drivers, Hell I even re-installed thwe older Drivers to update to these newer ones.
I still couldn't get the sound to come out my laptop speakers

I own a Sager 5680 not a emachines or Gateway, but this was the only area to post about the newest drivers so I chimed in.
