FarCry and my 7700 (as well as DoW)

OK. If i posted it in the wrong section, I am sorry.

I have had texture issues in FarCry, WarHammer 40K DoW, and Halo. I just got the latest drivers from AW and it fixed the issue with DoW.

in FarCry, the ground is texture in solid black and the H2O looks worse than HalfLife1

In Halo, there are giant planes of texture extending quite often from people (their faces) and ships. (similar problem happened in DoW)

Just for the record, HalfLife2 and Doom3 look sweet with NO issues.
(these problems persisted after all official patches and even without OCing and with OCing)

Please help!

I forgot to mention someting:

should I enable V-sync? (I have tried this and it does not fix the problem, but does it have other benefits)

I dont have the games you mention. However, I have seen massive issues with an older (1999) sports game caled supreme snowboarding, with flashing textures and long triangles emerging from objects. Setting the game driver to openGL fixed the issue, but the game was running for 5 straight years on 4 different PCs and graphics boards and there were never issues, I would suspect bugs in the driver for this relatively new chip.

did you over clock at all? and also sounds like a driver problem to me, try updateing them (heres the lastest 71.81 Nvidia drivers) http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=993

and if those dont work, try these

Yes, enable Vsync in all games on an LCD screen.

odd thing: when I put the video options to the lowest in Halo, it looks sucky, but no "problems", though. This does not fix it in FarCry, though

I had the all black type outlined screen in FarCry on my 766, and it was driver based in the end. In fact I could run the game fine on the GO5700 as long as I was using modded drivers. There used to be a guy on this forum who supplied the modded drivers everytime Nvidia changed the desktop drivers. Something about an .inf file modification to make it work with the "GO" line. I have no idead where he is now, sorry on that one.

Anyway, my issue with FarCry was always the battery life settings, being that I had it set for maximm power consumption, and not maximum performance.

I have tried both settings...believe me
I guess I'll contact AW about this problem (It has started in RomeTotalWar with random rectangles of blue, yellow, and pink on the ctrl panel on the bottom of teh screen

just wondering if your games were installed from original cd's. i had a problem with farcry, where any bright textures were white (i.e. in the very first tutorial part, the caves walls were almost white when they should have been pretty dark). then i downloaded a new "patched" version and it worked fine.
