Will you accept any other payment besides PayPal? And could I get it not through Ebay, since I don't have an account there. Otherwise, I am really interested. I'll post some more questions later when I have time, otherwise, school beckons.

Maybe

I will consider offers: robbaxter@hotmail.com. I'm sure we can arrange some sort of payment other than PayPal. This will have to happen before I get an eBay bid so I can cancel the auction.

Don't worry, you can cancel an e-bay auction at anytime(I have cancelled a few auctions with no problem, it makes no difference if there are bids or not) :-)

Hi GLADLOCK,
You posted a reply to my "Wanted Alienware Area 51" thread (http://talknotebooks.com/showthread....&threadid=6616). I was just wondering if you would consider taking offers for the laptop. please respond. Thank you

eBay auction over

Hey, I'm sorry to hear that your laptop didn't get any bids... it's definitely a good deal, and I'm sure you'll find someone willing to pay $1500 for it. Perhaps you should relist it with the word "laptop" in the title (so that searchers can find it), 1024 MB instead of 1GB (which people will assume refers to hard drive instead of RAM and thus will ignore the posting), and without "Envy Green." I'd buy it myself, except that I'm determined to get something with a Radeon 9600.

If you relist on e-bay, don't start the bidding so high(it scares potential bidders off)

I listed a Sager 8887v recently:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=3426229487

It says no bids, but that's because I cancelled the bids & sold it before the listing ended(you can cancel a listing at any time). I started the bidding at $1 & it had 27 bids within the next 24 hours(the bidding was at $1800 when I cancelled the listing)

thanks

I definitely appreciate the feedback. I received many inquires, but no eBay bids. Funny thing is that after the auction ended, I was spammed with requests to buy it. So, I'm in the process of finalizing a sale now. If it doesn't work out, I'll get the word out/relist. Thanks for the advice.

I'm glad you've got offers, but I hope you're aware that selling it outside of eBay foregoes all kinds of wonderful scam protection. I would re-list it.

escrow

Just so people are aware:

There are a number of services that can be used ensure a smooth transaction outside of eBay, such as escrow. There are fees associated with these services, just like eBay. However, the level of protection is greater for both parties.

see escrow.com, european-trader.com (for international transactions)

why is everyone selling their Sager's?

I loved mine

I really enjoyed my Sager. I sold mine because I suddenly required a more practical portable (Sager is heavy and has very low battery life) and I already have a more powerful desktop machine.
