Sager released today (2-21-05) the following news:

Quote:
Sager is excited to announce that it will now be selling NP9860 including Intel’s new 600 series processors. This processor promises to offer exciting new features. The 600 series processors feature a 2mb L2 cache and XD Bits technology for enhanced virus protection. The chip also includes EM64T so it can process 64 bit instructions with the correct operating system. However, because of the lack of software and drivers featuring support for this feature, it’s currently unclear what the compatibility of this feature will be with future offerings. Lastly the chip has Intel Enhanced Speed Step, which reduces power consumption and noise levels. Due to the high performance DTR design of Sager NP9860, power management cannot be turned over to the OS ACPI/Speed Step function controls. Therefore, the Enhanced Speed Step function is not compatible with current Sager mobile computer products.
