burning CDs... roxio vs. nero

Is it ok to read or write CDs between 2 notebooks that use different software?

I'm worried about any issues I may run into if I use one notebook with roxio and the other has nero. Is it best to stick with just one type?

roxio vs nero

If you are simply burning docs or mp3 files then you have no problems. burning specific 'images' may cause some issues. if you get alcohol 120% you should be good to go with disc images also.

i have roxio and it blows, it can't burn cds worth crap, it cant copy, it cant really do anything useful, nero is what most people use nowadays

Nero is better nowadays, back in the day Roxio was better, but that was really back in the day....

yeah back in the day when 4x burners were TOP of the line, i remember having roxio and my new burner in the dell, wow, great times haha, i can't remember if nero even exsisted back then

Hmm,

Doesn't nero have some sort of copying protection against image, etc.

I think alcohol 120% is best for burning protected data...

T4sys was not asking about protection issues.
But I like yourself think alcohol 120% is one of the best for my needs for backing up protected disk....
