Thanks mods for sending my complaint to Richard then deleting it from the threads.

On to the review. Richard hasnt repsponded to my PM thanking him for following up on my complaint. But apparently he was the person behind getitng it to me before the 6 weeks they told me.

THANKS RICHARD!

The backpack is AWESOME! It is worth every penny of $99 and more. Their is more padding on this thing than a kingsize serta. Lots and lots of room in side. As well as the bubble foam pads inside the laptop compartment make the laptop real cushioned and secured. You truley can not feel the weight fo the laptop when it is in this bag. I looked at the Targus Xl at Best Buy and their is NO comparison to this backpack. Will post pics when my camera arrvies. Ad the AW website doesnt really give good detail on the inerds.

I just got the regular size AW backpack for the 5500. I was kinda of leary if I was going to have enough room for books after talking to the sales dept. and looking at the AW sites Mobile Transport Demo, but I ordered it and a coffee tumbler anyways.

The bag has pockets galore. It has another full size pocket that I didn't even see in the demo. It's got plenty of room for everything. It is built well and the supercell for the lappy is just as Supernatural described..."more padding than a king size serta." It seems more protective than the ones I've looked at at Best Buy and CC. I had considered buying a messenger bag from Booqbags.com, but I am quite satisfied with the AW backpack.

...the stainless steel coffee tumbler holds coffee well =)

I was wonder if anyone wrote about the Backpack

Too awesome!

I just got my 7700 2/18/05, and immediately realized my old targus back pack(which is nice also) wasn't even close. In fact, the 7700 stood out about 2-3 inches past the internal zip portion. So anyway, I saw Targus makes a bigger pack for larger Laptops and half the price of AW's. But facts are facts, I didn't get the Area 51M 7700 because of price. So thanks for the review. Is there a warranty? The nice thing about targus is it is a Life Time. No I should need it that long, but "Life Time" anything is always a nice feature.

BTW - How many phases are there for the back pack?

Does the inner laptop compartment protect the entire laptop? That was my main complaint about the original backpack that about three inches of my 51-m was sticking out over the top of the pocket.

My new AW pack for the 5500 does leave part of comp. hanging out of the sleeve also. I wish the supercell went ahead and covered it all. However, the pocket the sleeve is in, is completely padded itself.

HAHA Their is believe it or not either 4 or 5 phases for gear orders!'

I do not know of many if any backpacks that cover the machine all the way to the top. However it has HUGE foam pads like medicine gel caps all over inside and a nice elastic strap that stretches of the end and fastens down to keep the laptop put.

My camera showed up today but the box with my lenses wont be here till thursday. Soon as I get all my photog equipment in ill post pics.
