9860 is here, but has a dead pixel :(

Hey everyone.
this is the second notebook i've ordered from PCTorque, the first one being the 8790-S which had a perfect screen and was, for a long time, my best investment. Unfortunately, my new 9860 has a red dead/stuck pixel in the upper left corner and i can not send it back because i'll be leaving the country in a week and wouldn't be able to get it back in time. For those of you with a dead/stuck pixel, is it possible for that one pixel to somehow (eventually) become functional again? Is it valid to suspect that more dead pixels could appear or is this just a local fault of the screen?

Thanks

Yea, so i heard but haven't heard of anyone actually "fixing" such a pixel. To enlighten me, a stuck pixel is one that is "stuck" in one particular color and doesn't change?!?! but then what is a dead pixel? Last question, if it disapears after GENTLY rubbing it, is that a permanent fix or will that one pixel keep on acting weird after restart, etc. ?

Thanks for the reply

a dead pixel is one that doesnt even light up and I have an Alienware 5500 infront of me that was fixed in that manner so yes it does work but you must be gentle!!

Hopefully you'll get your pixel changed, and you'll need to retire your username

Stuck means it is only displays one color and can not be changed, while dead means it displays no color and appers black. If it dissapears, there is no telling if it will come back. It may, it may not.
