For the screen problem why don't you just take screen shots and post those? Maybe that will help us help you.

I was going to do that, but when I saw my screenshots on my destop, they looked perfectly normal. My desktop could handle the colors right and the laptop couldn't. Maybe something will change when ATI comes out with some new drivers.

By the way, I see no traces of this while gaming. UT2k3 @ native res all settings highest is very playable. I averaged about 40fps.

I've got the same problem with the blotchiness. 32 bit color, 1280x1024 resolution, but it looks weird. I got a differenct style for xp, and it looks better, but the problem is still noticeable.

Well I guess if any one of us finds out how to fix it make a post back here.

for those with the 'strange' color depth problems try out these tests and see how you fare

quick 256 color test

check for banding
http://www.wickiup.com/wickiup/displ...y/banding.html

go here and select colordepth. Check the test patterns for banding.
