When booting, shows 2 Win xp options??

Thread Starter
I just recently did a clean install of Win xp home of my 700m and when booting up it shows 2 options of the win xp home edition. My question is how do I get rid of the second option so that the win xp boots up without showing this option every time.(When the second option is chosen, an error is shown) The thing is, I reinstalled the win xp twice now, but it still shows up. I am using a bootable win xp home that I created using a guideline found via online, not the win xp home that came with the laptop. I have had no problems like this before. Anyone know how to fix this?

Right click My Computer, Properties, Advanced tab, Start up and recovery.

Select one of the default operating systems, uncheck "time to display list of operating systems".

That should do it as far as I'm aware.

Go to Control Panel -> System-> Advanced-> Startup and Recovery-> Edit

You will be able to edit boot.ini file by deleting one of operating system option you do not want.

I did it on several machines before without any issue.
