Please help with Media buttons on laptop! I deleted something...

When I got my Sony, I didnt like all that preinstalled crap on it, so i started deleting everything. Well, now the volume buttons on the laptop dont work. I reinstalled all the drivers and apps that came with the computer but they still dont work. And niether does the button that ejects the CD ROM. I figure its the same thing that runs both of those. Does anyone know exactly which app/drivers runs these so I can get them working again? BTW, I have a VGN-A600 series. Thanks!


Just to make it really clear, none of the buttons work on the notebook, i.e. mute, volume, brightness, zoom, eject, etc.. HELP!

my sony laptop (pcg-sr7k, about 6 years old) came with application recovery disks. i've never used them, but i would guess that is where you would go to install those apps.

oh yeah, the last time i checked, the sony website is of no use to try and find updates or support. at least for laptops.

I've installed all the related apps and it didnt fix it. I guess I'll have to call...Thanks anyways though.

If all else fails then reinstall everything. Oh, have you tried going back to an earlier recovery point in XP?
