Superglue? I tried that double-sided weatherstrip tape you use for sealing heatshrink plastic around windows. It worked for a while but the feet came off again.

Yes, many of us who have these shadow cases are having the same feet come off. It's common. The one thing that HAS worked for me is rather ironic. I went to WalMart and in the hardware section they have these clear half dome sticky bumbers. They are about 1/3 inch wide and they stick great. Just remember to prep the surface with rubbing alcohol and make sureit's dry so they stick better. Supprisingly, no problems after about 1 month of useage. They also are the right height too.

As far as getting replacement bumbers from Gateway/eMachines...well..they just won't have it. They will not give me any. I called them twice, been redirected to Arima and Arima layed down the ignorant "I don't know who eMachines is" position. maybe you can convince them that this is a problem. If your under the warranty I can't see why not? Let us know whats up if you do.

Be careful using any kind of superglue on the notebook. Superglue and the like has a nasty habit of chemically melting plastic. Make sure whatever adhesive you use is listed as safe for plastics.

As for replacement under warranty, they will take care of it. I don't know if they will send you a box strictly for that purpose though. When I sent mine in for the cracked hinge covers, I attached a note requesting they replace mine and they did.

I never tried superglue personaly but your right it could melt the plastic. It's interesting that your feet were replaced but mine were not even when I left a note with them on my last RMA.

They didn't fix it because they didn't like some guy telling them how to do their job

Damn... I had to send mine in because the hdd died, and they actually broke off part of a foor... grr. But I'm too lazy to send it back in to replace a foot, and also because I can't find any time when I could go without my laptop for 2-3 weeks.

I have no clue why there is no consistency with this company. I removed my dust covers for my card readers before I sent it in and they installed new ones. I can't imagine them doing this to everyone. I didn't even ask.

so, looks like my answer is no

What we need to do is figure out where Arima gets the feet from. There are millions of different kind of rubber feet out there, surely one that matches the notebook can be found somewhere.

I posted my feet problem in the cracking hinges thread. I sent my 6805 in for cracked hinges and it came back with a missing foot on the bezel. I called eMachines back and they said I have to send the whole machine back in because Arima considers those feet a part of the bezel and the whole bezel needs to be replaced because of it. Although I love eMachines for helping me out with these hinges (my machine is out of warranty), that has got to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard. One stinkin rubber foot, and they can't send me one or even let me pay for one. It's not on the Arima part list.

They can't replace the feet without replacing the bottom case? What about the screen bezel? Obviously the rubber caps around the screen need to be installed after the screws ar installed.

I emailed Arima. Will see what happens. Maybe you guys should email them to. maybe they will relent. I offered to buy them and asked them who their supplier was.

I don't know about the bottom case. My problem is with the rubber ones on the bezel. I was told by eMachines through Arima that the rubber "buttons" were a part of the bezel and the whole part needs replacing.

It just sounds really silly that they need to do all of that over 1 measly rubber part. I know it can't be cheap to overnight a laptop two ways, then wasting all of that time when they could be moving other laptops out of the warehouse that had serious problems.

All four of the feet on my M6811 have come off. I think I will try the rubber-bumpers thing.

Another thing you might try is to get plastic glue (comes in orange tubes -- get it at a wargaming store, since they have to glue lots of plastic models together) and cut out bits of mousepad to stick to the bottom. Ugly, but it should work ... and, if you have a eMachine/Gateway, surely you're concerned more about performance than looking good.

The rubber feet on mine are still intact. I have problem pusing my laptop on the table....so to make it easier I have pasted the pads found for furniture feets. They already come as a sticky on one side.

One plus point is, some are quite thick....this helps put space between laptop and the desk....good airflow for the vents below.

easier repositioning....just give a little push to glide it to a newer location.

I have been using those 3M rubber dome bumbers (bumpons). I got sick of the look so I called eMachines Corporate and they told Arima to send me some new feet. One week later I recieved four directly from Arima service center in Texas. Just put two of them on today. Will save the other two. So obviously getting new feet can be done. Just be firm and polite and tell them you need feet. Don't beat around the bush or tell them it's your fault.

When putting on the new ones make sure all the old sticky tape is gone and use alcohol to prep the surface area. Should be golden...for a while at least.

I just called the Canadian eMachines Techsupport number and the guy told me no replacements but I could go to Radio Shack to get them. Anyone else in Canada have better luck?
