X Window config problem

im installing X window on my r3000z/zv5000 notebook. everything went fine but now after installation i cant log in the graphical interface because i see funny blank screen and corrupted figures. i tried running redhat-config-xfree86 but to no avail. so basically i cant use the text based login but not the graphical one..when i was installing it it was fine

Did you try and edit your XF86Config-4? If so, go back to the previous version. If not, try the failsafe login. Otherwise, search the net and see if you can find a working XF86Config-4 file for your model X should give you some kind of error feedback when it poops. Probably says something about 'no screens' For me that usually means that I made an error while edit my config. The config file is normally located in /etc/X11. Good luck.
