Windows XP 64-bit isn't even available. Unless you're going to run a 64-bit distro of linux, it's almost pointless to have one at this point in time. Not only that You don't even have decent video to back the power of that high end 64-bit CPU.
Not to mention the hard drive on that thing is probably 4200RPM (since it doesn't state otherwise)
This is certainly the most homerisque statement I have seen on the board, and not the Aeolic Homer. A 3.0 Press-Hot beating a A64 3400+, maybe in your wet dreams. The 3.0 even has touble beating the MA64 2800+ on some applications; and it is a 3 yr old CPU, and is nothing but a gas-guzzler and produces as much heat as a hair-drier. The HDD is a drawback, but that will have much less to do with games than CPU/RAM/Vid. If you don't know, the 9550 is simply an underclocked version of the 9700, same vertex pipeline, same geometic processor, same rasterizer, same texture, and same fragment processor; and can be OCed to the speed of the very GPU that you have in your LT.
