Hi,
What would I need to connect my Inspiron 8600 to my TV for the best audio/video output? I want to watch Divx/DVD movies.
Thanks

I believe there is an Svideo port on the 8600. I could not find an svideo cable for the 8600 on the Dell website. Does anyone know what part # it is? I know that Dell had an option for a audio video output bundle when first buying the computer but I did not purchase it then and now I cannot find it. Please help. I need to order this soon.
Thanks

A regular s-video cable will do. And for the audio get the cable that has has one end that fits into the headphone jack and the other has two RCA jacks.

thanks mich43l,
So will an svideo cable be enough to connect to a projector and tv? Also do you know what part numbers the Svideo and audio cables are on the Dell website? I dont want to buy something that is not compatible.

If you're connecting to a proejector it'll probably have VGA input, so just connect a VGA cable from your laptop to the projector.

Or just use the SVideo lead. You don't even need to buy the parts from Dell, they're standard cables you find in any regular electronics store, Radio Shack if you're stateside and the like, or Maplins in the UK etc.
