Interesting, the 8x DVD+-RW is the only optical drive allowed, and the 53whr(no sub) battery is the only option for primary battery. I hope they fix the latter for US! No Dell wifi card options either, hmm.

Now the question is do I wait an extra 2.5 weeks to see what the xps2 price is like and possibly get that instead of the 9300? Anyone know the performance difference between the 6800go and 6800go ultra?

No option between the x300 and the 6800? Man.... kinda sucky vid card but if you want anyting better its a fairly huge price increase.

does anyone know if the media buttons are backlit, I looked on the product descriptions, and it never mentioned backlit buttons?

Also in the description, it confirmed that the wuxga was the only one with the trulife screen, as I and others have posted about the differing information from different sources.

It looks like only the WUXGA panel has the reflective coating:

Yikes, the UK 9300 base price is US$2560, and the go6800 is a $400 option.

Edit: the base price is more like US$2080 since they were including some monster warranty in the default config.

Yay Glossy!

Just in case the site disappears again heres the definition of TrueLife (WUXGA only)

Eye-catching 17" DellTM UltraSharpTM wide-aspect displays deliver an impressive gaming and wide screen DVD viewing experience. The wide-aspect screens are available in two resolutions - WUXGA (1920x1200) and WXGA+ (1440x900). The WUXGA panel features TrueLifeTM . The reflective finish of TrueLifeTM screens add greater colour contrast and vibrancy to movies and games for a truly breathtaking visual experience.

So how come no 2.0Ghz option?
the price premium for the 2.13 is absurd, but i want faster than 1.86 since i currently have 1.5ghz

it varies by region and time as well. the 8600 for a while didn't have the 1.8 option, just 2.0 and 1.6. it'll be interesting to see if us 9300 gets a 2.0 option, I hope so as I'd rather put the $300+ towards 2gb of ram than 100mhz heh.

so do we want the glossy screen? is the true life worth it or just marketing?
