Overclocked 9860 3dmark03 scores

Thread Starter
Hi guys,

I was just wondering as a little comparison what people are getting approximately from Oced 6800go Rev2 and X800s. I see plenty of the 3d05 scores around, but I am wanting to compare them to the 12,000+ of the 6800Go Ultra in 3d03. Apparently this card is a 16 pipe version of the 6800, but there is a guy in the Dell forums that has a theory that it is simply a higher voltage higher clocked 6800Go core. Thoughts?

Cheers

X800=(highest here about 9000)
6800 DDR2 = probablly bout 7000
6800 DDR3 = probablly can hit 10000 when overclocked right

my thoughts.. may be off a bit

Someone has hit close to 10000 with the X800 I believe. Maybe over.

See my sig. for overclocked 6800Go DDR2 scores, akoustikchik has scored over 9,600 with the same card, vrod2028 has hit 11,000 with his X800 and the most extreme overclock of that card that anyone's posted thus far. Ambitwoguntz however, has surpassed vrod2028's 3DMark '05 score by 100 points with an overclock of his 6800Go DDR3 card, so I'd expect that it too can get over 11,000 3DMark '03 marks. I wouldn't be surprised if an OC of the 6800Go DDR3 Ultra can easily achieve 13,000 - 13,500 3DMark '03 marks.

did you guys see the 6800ultra with 512mb of ddr3?
my scores are in my sig this is the old ddr2 version using default driver. i am overclocking a bit though since as delivered my clocks where well under the 300/300 they are supposed to be. One note i havnt reran 05 or 01 since uping my speeds a bit more so my 05 and 01 score is a bit out of date but the rest are my current scores.I tend to tweak with 03 mostly.

Nah, no help, just overclocked to like 492,510 or something. With my regular clocks of 483/483 it's still over 11k.

I saw it for a desktop.

How do I overclock? I'm envious

I want to get on board and start messing with my GPU and CPU. How does one overclock? I know you can do it with the ATI desktop control program, but that thing hogs resources and so I have it disabled. However, if that's the only way to overclock, then maybe I'll have to use it. With older computers, I remember you could overclock in the BIOS, but I don't think I can do that on my 9860.
you can do it in the bios, but some software is good at doing it as well; gigabyte's video cards usually come with an overclocking utility and the utility is certainly a bit more convenient than the bios.

There is many different ways to overclock. If your using an ATi, get the Omega Drivers and you can overclock with them. Also if you have the right BIOS you can overclock with that. But as far as I know the Sager 9860 comes with the Pheniox (sp?) BIOS, which does not allow you to overclock in anyway. Still lots of different Windows based apps for overclocking.

When it too much too much?

I use the Omega drivers. When do you know how high or far is just too much? I have never overclocked, I'm a simple funlovin gamer that just says, ok... what it is is what it is. But i dont want to be anymore! LOL. So help a brother out. When do you know you've reached a good threshold?

I tried a little test with my X800 equipped 9860, I am at work, and it is cold out, so I just kinda opened the door from the office here and let my 9860 corner (where the X800 intake is) hang off into the nice cool air underneath. Well I clocked the X800 to 510 chip/530mem and ran 3dmark 03, the score was 11838 no sweat. I could try over and over to find the max bench, but this was pretty good. Here is a screenshot. With this kinda clocks, I could prob bench 5k in 3dmark05, I just do not have it on the machine at the moment. Here is a screenie for your viewing pleasure:

Mmm for some reason, the pic is not showing full screen.. Oh well, just have a hard look at it and you'll see the score hehe..
