9300 is coming...

In March..with an optional TV tuner! I like its price over XPS2.

The company also announced the 7.9-pound Inspiron 9300 notebook, which will be available in March. The $1,599 notebook focuses on entertainment and comes with a 17-inch screen, Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, Intel's 2.1GHz Pentium M chip, USB 2.0 TV tuner options and multiple ports for connecting video and audio devices.

Yeah, I can't wait. I just saw the price on that XPS with hopes that the i9300 would be a bit cheaper. That's good to know...

Yup, and that's a heck of a lot better than $2700.

Yeah but that'll be with an XGA display and a fairly low end card, like the x300 or something. Start adding on the basic upgrades and that price will climb mighty fast.

You’re completely right. Bump the processor up to 2.0 GHz, jam the hard drive up a notch the 60GB 7200RPM hard drive, and add a DVD burner and you’re looking at a pretty hefty price.

I don’t know, though; we’ll have to check it out when it gets on the USA website.
