The M70 is awesome!

I just got a new M70 loaded and I got my son an 8600. I am totally surprised at the feel of the case. It feels rock sold and the little pricision facing is very exotic feeling. This body is much nicer than the M60 which is almost exactly like the 8600s. Very nice improvement, it feels thicker and more sturdy! The keyboard is also rock solid, not like the 8600. Frankly is it the nicest laptop I have ever used. Course they didn't improve the back light leaking problem.
But still quite pleased.

yeah, the case is really nice. much sturdier because of the magnesium base.

the design on the lid is pretty cool, IMO. not too flashy (ie... alienware/XPS gen2)... but not too boring, either.

right when u asked, i tried it... haha think that's the first time i used it. works like it's supposed to, i guess... not a big fan of the eraser head. i'm a touchpad man myself.

Have you noticed how they put a different lid on the M70? Maybe they noticed the D800@M60 mod

I just noticed, however, that the new D810 doesn't use the same battery. Bad thing...
