Need recommended Ram, Laptop Case, and DVDRW for I6000.

Hi, my first post. I bought a Dell I6000 after getting my I9200 which I plan to sell. I wanted the 8600 instead of the 6000 but since it's gone, the only good all around laptop I see is the I6000.

Well anyways, I need recommendations. I didn't want to get the ram dell provided or dvdrw because I want better ones aftermarket. I got a Pent 2.0ghz M 760 (533mhz) and I'm confused if it's PC2-4300 or PC2-4200. The upgrade in the accessory section of dell show ram at 400mhz for the I6000. Does that mean the ram dell has is 400mhz but works at 533? What specific ram is good for my lappie that has fast response times, maybe a low cas latency at 1gb a stick?

I also didn't bother for the dvdrw they had. I checked the forums and saw NEC Slim was the choice for dvdrw or am I mistaken? Is that the best and what exactly is the model number to that so I can look it up?

Last thing I want to know is the case. The 9200 was hard finding a nice case and I needed one in a rush so I got a targus that was 5 inches wider vert and hori. It was ugly. I don't want something looking to professional. Cool, sleek, modern, and a little hip is what I'm looking for. Leather is not required. So please any suggestions?

The size is:
length 10.45
width 14.02
height 1.52

Thanks guys.

not sure about the dvdr, but for the case you should check out the booq vyper L and BP3 combo. (www.booqbags.com) if you check the interior dims on the vyper you'll find that they are just a bit bigger than the lappy on all sides and should fit nice and snug... not to mention look very good. The BP3 is a nice backpack if you are looking for one also. The Vyper is a sleeve so you will need something else in order to tote the power adapter and any accessories.

Personally I ordered the 101 bag from dakine (http://www.ebags.com/dakine/101_pack...?modelid=13444) and am very much looking forward to getting it. I still ordered the Vyper sleeve but the dakine pack + vyper is a bit cheaper than the bp3 and vyper combo and I need some room for clothes on short trips where I'm not checking my baggage.

Ram

Are you sure it's 533? I thought the DDR2 in the I6000 was 400 (PC 3200)... can anyone confirm this??

I'm not sure if the 533 RAM is coming with the manufactured d6000 system.
But the 533 PC2-4200 should be compatible, if you need good RAM in your d6000.
