Dell Gaming and Price

I've read some of the forums, but wanted to just throw this out there. I have around 1500-1700.00 to spend with dell. What do you feel is the best performance/gaming laptop available. With the coupons I know there are some good deal, but I'm just looking for some feedback.

Thanks!

Take a look at the 9200. They are running some pretty deep discounts on that line right now and it is a pretty decent gaming machine (not as good as the XPS2, but it's significantly cheaper).

The 9200 would be your best Dell laptop for that price range.

If I could get the xps2 for a good price I'd get it, but it's quite pricey. The 9200 looks to be one of the better ones on the table for my price.

My next question is, I'm not too familiar with the M processors. They have four of them:

the 725, 745, 755, and the 765 - What are these equivalent to?

All in all thought the 9200 looks very nice.

Of course you might want to wait. The 9300 is supposed to come out in a few weeks and one press release I read said it would start at around $1500.

With discounts, etc, it might be a better deal than the 9200.

Better deal meaning faster GPU for about the same price.

725 - 1.6Ghz
745 - 1.8
755 - 2.0
765 - 2.1

For gaming are these speeds good enough to run the high end games on their high settings?

I have one more question the XPS is within the range where I could afford it right now, is it significantly better than the 9200?

They are pretty good for gaming. I would go with the 1.8 or higher and you should be fine. The limiting factor will be the 9700.

XPS is faster but you get less battery power. If gaming is your concern I would get it over the 9200 (provided you get the MR9800 option). If battery is a large concern I would go with the 9200.
