Carrying Cases

Are there any other carrying cases for the 7700 besides the backpack? because I have a backpack for books and stuff and cant wear two . Any 3rd party cases? The Alienware Rep said it wouldent fit in the Alienarmor.

umm look on google for a company called vanguard, very high quility cases for not 2 much money

Who do you think AW sub the production their hard cases to? They sure as heck don't make them themselves (lol)
And btw.... I'm sure that AW does have a case that should accomodate the 7700.... looks like that rep you talked to is misinformed...

Vanguard luxor 83c only 3inch outside thickness and fits 2.5 in internal. Comes in black rubber coating or aluminum brushed.

I'd just pack only the books you actually need for class in the backpack. I've been out of college for about 13 years now but I think you might look silly carrying a backpack and a briefcase. But that's just me, I like to have one backpack so I can ride my bike. I haven't gotten my 7700 with the backpack yet but I'm anxiously awaiting it.

I'm not exactly sure how you want to carry it, or how much protection you desire (aluminum hard case, etc.), but check this out:

I already have a backpack and I do not want to carry a briefcase or laptop bag with a backpack. So, I put a cover on my laptop and accessories and throw them into my backpack as well. It's not designed for a laptop (JanSport), but it is one of those ergonomic backpacks with sufficient padding on the bottom and the back. I still have room for 3-4 books in the back compartment, 2 front compartments and lots of side pockets, etc. Works out well. I've been carrying laptops like this for almost 5 years now. Not a single ding, scratch, crack, whatever.

Have you seen the XL backpack? I will easily hold some books but not a library...maybe you do need to have 2 as it sounds as if your carring far more than I ever did and I use mine now for work and have books, journals and my 7700 in there..you might be a little unrealistic with your expectations or are you one of those guys who pulls his dorm room on wheels around campus?
