It's an Intel board made exclusively for Dell.

I think the bait an switch is a bit far fetched but I do agree with their finanancing being jacked.

That does not make the motherboard Intel. All that means is that it has the socket for the current Pentium 4 processors.

EDIT: I found out that Foxconn makes the boards, not Intel. I could have swore I read that Intel made Dell boards...

I have a bunch of pics of my old Precision at home. I'll post some later.

the difference between BK and a 5 star resturant is a big difference. the difference in price between your PC and his, and your PC performance and his, is great, and pretty close, respectivly.

Link to proof?

As I've said, when I last shopped, the XPS was more expensive than my AW for as close as I could get to the same configuration.

Judging by the benchmark and computer comparison reviews I've read, the performance in raw fps is larger on a percentage basis than any possible savings.

All they have to do is put a real motherboard in there, how much can that cost?

Do people really want to save money so much as to limit their hardware in a gaming rig?

give me a link to prove otherwise. an alienware with a P4 3.46ghz EE with an x800XT with 1 GB of PC2-4400 ram, would perform on par with a dell xps with a 3.46EE with an x800xt with 1gig of PC2-4400 ram. its a fact my friend, the only difference would be the brand of ram and the motherboard.
