I guess the only way us US people buy it is to either a)order internationally, or b)visit a canadian mega computer store.

Since Canada uses the same eletrical outlets, whats to stop americans from hopping over to Canada (Especially New Yorkers, and people in the states uptop) buy their LG laptop, bring it over to the US, change Regional settings in Windows (Or they could already be defaulted to US), and we got ourselves a nice laptop. Why do people other than the US get nice stuff ?

We get IBM's instead..

I believe LG builds the IBM thinkpads, and they made an agreement with IBM to not compete in the US market.

you can find several LG models being sold at futureshop here in canada. they have an uber sexy 17inch display in wuxga that is glossy i believe.... still only an x600 128mb but the thing is an ultra sexy beast....

the warranty is international and there are service places in the USA for them to be fixed should the need arise. im still not sure if it is possible to carrry it back before registering it to a canadian address.... but it could be done.

LG's don't have customization options availiable, you get whats in the box from the factory.

very true we cant customize it here from LG although that would be amazing if we could... i think you would see alot of LG owners if they could get it with a x700 or a 6600. that 17inch model would be flying off the shelves.
