A California law firm has slapped Dell with a class action lawsuit charging the computer giant with "systematically deceiving" its customers.

The suit, filed in San Francisco County Superior Court on Feb. 14, seeks class action status in California and accuses Dell of "bait and switch" practices, false advertising, fraud and deceit in sales and advertising, and breach of contract.

News flash d00ds: anybody can sue for any reason. Class action suits are all about legal fees for fat lawyers. Why not wait for the verdict (assuming it makes it to court)?

Have any of you guys ever been overcharged by Dell? Didn't think so.

Nothing special. Any big company will have their fair share of lawsuits (Microsoft anyone? ). But good find snorre!

I have heard many accounts of people being overcharged by dell. Why do you feel the need to defend their unethical business practices?

Perhaps because I've bought something like 50 systems from Dell and found them to be very generous with discounts. In fact, more generous than any other retailer I've ever dealt with. In other words, my personal experience is the exact opposite of that described.

So, I'll ask again, have *you* personally ever been overcharged by Dell? Didn't think so.

I've not been overcharged, but I have been sent the wrong things, had to wait hours for moronic customer 'service', had orders cancelled, been insulted by more customer 'service' agents and all other joys of dealing with Dell. Unfortunately I can't sue them for all the time I've wasted.

Cheers

Steve

If we could sue people for being morons, 99% of the world would be slapped with lawsuits.

Personally, I find Dell CSRs to be kind, courteous, and utterly incompetent. And that contrasts with other companies, like HP, where I just find them incompetent without being kind and courteous.

After multiple Dell products I have not been overcharged. I have a Dell Pocket PC, and it was so much cheaper than the Competition
$300 Dell Axim vs $650 HP iPaq, lol absolutely NO contest.

yeah me neither, its like only a hand ful of people that dell made mistakes on

$400CDN axim Vs $650 ipaq, the Axim is still faster with more features and more memory LOL hp isn't even on the boards for comparison, they suck way too bad. i used to have an ipaq 2210, it was okay but it sucked for how much it costs

yeah, when I got my Axim X30, it used the new Handheld processor, so not only was it's clock speed faster 624 MHz vs 400 MHz, it was just plain faster because of the updated core. I think the X30 uses the Intel PXA 270 and the iPaqs at the time (now they have been updated) used the Intel PXA 265 or something like that. The Axim owns

Everyone who buys an Alienware Desktop is overcharged, here comes a lawsuit!

Last time I checked many the publicly known American law suits were the stupidest things ever. I recall a case where somebody sued McDonald's because s/he spilled him/herself with hot coffee and didn't find some kind of warning on the cup that the inside maybe hot.
Yeah, we learned about that old lady in my Intro to Law class. Kind of funny, if you ask me.
Kind of pathetic too. The argument made was that McD's coffee was so much hotter than their competitors' that they are at fault for their customers' incompetence. If someone's common sense quotient is lower than a snail's, they should not be actively participating in the outside world... Safeway home delivery, anyone?

Regards,

zakaluka2.

PS: I'm in a judgemental mood today

Looks like people can't handle mistakes themselves, if someone can't add numbers properly then they DESERVE to be overcharged.
