How to extend battery life on V2010us

Hello all,
Is there a way to extend the battery life on a V2010us? I'm currently getting about 2-3hours with brightness at about the mid point and with WIFI on.

The laptop has a celeron M in it so it doesn't have as good as power saving features as P-M.

Is there a way to decrease the FSB of the laptop to conserve power?

The only other options i can think of are the 12-cell battery (which i'd rather not pay the ~$120 for) and ripping apart my new toy to put in a P-M (if it will even work the chipset reads as 855 with intel's chipset utility)

thanks for any info,
Bob

I guess you are getting pretty good battery life with your current setting and given that the C-M doesnt have the power saving features of the P-M. You could use and underclocking program like Clockgen (use at your own risk). I have not used it on my V2000 but works beautifully on my AMD based machine. It may not work on your machine.

I just got my V2000 just 2 days ago...not tinkered with it yet.

Have you tried setting the power level to max battery and turning everything down to the lowest levels.

open your laptop, take out your CM, throw it in the garbage, buy a respectable PM (1.8?) and throw that in, reassemble, turn on, instant better battery life
